10 fun ways to become more active - Every Day

You know you should get some kind of exercise, you know all the health benefits that come with a more active lifestyle. You have tried the whole thing Gym, but it was just not for you. The temptation to sit in front of the TV, to curl up with a good book, or spend a little extra time to your computer is just too big. Who wants to go to the gym right now anyway?

There are many other options for more active that do not include jogging, weight lifting or other means "traditional" to solve. Here are some ideas to move

1) Chase your kids around the yard
You'd be surprised how a work you will have to play catch with your kids. Time will fly while you have fun and your children will enjoy the extra time with you. Just go out and play.

2) Turn the music and dance around the living room
While dusting, setting up dishes, straightening children's rooms, or after you have been sitting around for too long, just play some of your favorite upbeat music and dance around the house. Not only will you get your heart rate, but you will also more fun to do some of these tasks.

3) Planting flowers
When the weather is fine, just go out and plant flowers. Or you could start a small vegetable garden, trim hedges, cutting grass or plant a tree. You get the idea. Just go out there, enjoy the sun and fresh air, and play in the dirt. Yes, this account that the exercise in our book.

4) Go for a walk with a friend
Take a walk and invite a friend to come. I had some of the best conversations during a walk. How to chat with a friend makes the time pass and before you know you have been walking for 30 minutes.

5) listening to music or an audio book while you walk
Again, keeping your mind on something else will make the time pass and you'll have even more entertainment of your walk. You may want to consider getting an MP3 player. You can easily add what you want to play and go for your walk.

6) Sign up for a yoga or Pilates class
Consider starting a yoga or Pilates class courses. Both workouts are pretty low impact and will not leave you sweaty and bad (mostly). You can also enjoy meeting new people in the class

7) Take dance lessons with your partner
Ok, here's the hard part :. Convince your partner to take some dance classes. Dancing will give you quite the workout and it's just fun and of course romantic. Consider all your options here. You can choose anything from Ball Room Dancing, dance line, latin, etc. Choose something that sounds fun to you and go for it. You will enjoy an extra on one time with your partner too.

8) go swimming at your local YMCA or Aquatic Center
Swimming makes for a great year. It is low impact and easy on your joints. Start by swimming a few laps in the pool or play with your children.

9) go for a bike ride
Take the whole family on a bike. You can ride in your neighborhood at night or plan a longer trip for the weekend. A picnic for extra fun and start peddling.

10) Go for a hike
Find hiking trails in your area and go for a hike. This could be a fun activity for you and a friend, or take the whole family along. Start with some easy runs and work yourself up to a few longer runs or steeper.

Go ahead, take one or two activities and move. I'm sure you'll come up with many versions of your own. The most important thing is to find something you like, so you'll stick with it. Get out and move today.
